• 1st Prepatory Senior Officials Meeting for the 4th ASEM Culture Ministers Meeting (ASEM-CMM)

  At the ASEM Culture Ministers Meeting in Paris, 2005, Poland claimed the readiness to host the 4th CMM. The proposal was approved and the Meeting in Poland was re-scheduled to 2010, after the previous CMM in Kuala Lumpur was moved from 2007 to 2008. Poland reconfirmed the willingness of hosting the 4th CMM during the plenary session of Ministers in Kuala Lumpur, April 2008 (see 3rd CMM Chairman's Statement). Recently, it has been decided that the venue of the 4th CMM will be the City of Poznań, which successfully hosted the United Nations Climate Change Conference last year, and which is at the same time a boosting cultural and academic centre. Poland, being the hosting country of the 4th CMM, will organize the first Preparatory Meeting in Cracow with the intention of carrying out a presentation of the plans, agenda and details of the 4th Culture Ministers Meeting in Poznań 2010.

  ASEM partners decided to focus on counter-terrorism during the 4th ASEM summit in Denmark in 2002, and thus agreed on a declaration on cooperation against international terrorism.
