Norway celebrated ASEM day with a Norwegian Asia Forum organised by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. More than 80 representatives from the diplomatic community, business, Norwegian parliament, academia and ministries participated in a lively discussion regarding New Global Policy Balances and Power Ambitions in Asia: Consequences for Europe. The event was hosted by State Secretary Tone Skogen, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Depok , IndonesiaASEM Day: Connecting the Youth in Asia & Europe
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia in collaboration with the University of Indonesia held ASEM Day 2017 on 13 March 2017 in Depok, Indonesia with the theme, "Promoting the Role of ASEM in Connecting the Youth in Asia and Europe". The aim was to promote ASEM programs and achievements to Indonesian youth. This project invited representatives from Embassies of ASEM Partners in Jakarta.

On the occasion of ASEM day, the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, organized 2 briefings about ASEM on 7 March 2017, at the Chiang Mai University and on 13 March 2017, at the Maha Sarakham University. The purpose of the briefing is to raise awareness among the youth and people, as well as promote upcoming ASEF youth programmes. The briefing attracted young university students and locals. In total, there were more than 500 people that attended the briefing.

The 16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights, took place on 8-10 November 2016 in Beijing, China, on the theme “Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights”. The 16th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights addressed the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, especially with regards to the situation in ASEM member countries and regionally in Asia and Europe. The Seminar begun with an opening plenary on 8 November 2016 including introductory messages and keynote speeches.
