Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on the occasion of the 1st ASEM Day Established 21 years ago, the ASEM process has evolved to be the most comprehensive platform for high-level dialogue between Europe and Asia, as its members represent some 60% of global GDP and the world’s population. This vast influence brings a joint responsibility to address today’s global challenges as well. Since its inception ASEM has proved itself as a crucial forum to coordinate and harmonize our strategies in tackling the most pressing issues.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Latvia issued a press statement in celebration of ASEM Day on 1 March 2017, emphasising Latvia's role as an ASEM Partner. "Latvia has been part of the ASEM cooperation format since joining the European Union in 2004. This partnership enables Latvia to be part of a major international framework and meet at the highest level with officials from the Asian countries to promote Latvia’s interests both in politics and economics", according to the statement.

The 2017 ASEM DUO Fellowship Programme is now open to applications until 15 April 2017.
