The Asia-Europe Vision Group was launched at the closing ceremony of ASEM 2. It held its first meeting at the Moller Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge on 5-6 April. Its aim is to provide a medium to long term vision to help guide the ASEM process into the next century. It will assess the achievements of ASEM and make recommendations for strengthening it further.

The Vision Group has 26 members, one from each of the ASEM countries, from a variety of backgrounds: politics, business, public service and the academic world.
