During the 11^th ASEM Summit (ASEM11) in July 2016, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, ASEM Leaders have agreed to forge closer ASEM partnerships in the area of women empowerment. At the 1^st ASEM Conference on Women’s Economic Empowerment, “Creating Equal Opportunities in the World of Work”. Participants of the Conference welcomed India’s offer to host the 2^nd ASEM Conference on Women’s Empowerment in 2018. They invited ASEM Senior Officials to discuss the progress of this dialogue, as stated in the Vilnius Declaration of the 1^st ASEM Conference on Women’s Economic Empowerment.
