At the 11th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM FMM11) in November 2013 in New Delhi, India proposed that “Energy Efficiency in Green Buildings” would be a key area for cooperation. Subsequently, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, jointly with the CII-Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), organized the ASEM Roundtable on Green Buildings for the ASEM countries during the 12th Edition of Green Building Congress at Hyderabad on 5th September 2014. The meeting was attended by over 40 senior officials of leading companies from the Indian Green building sector and ASEM countries.
The objectives of the meeting were to identify focus areas for cooperation in the Green building sector among ASEM countries and to identify initiatives that need to be undertaken for increased cooperation among ASEM countries.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with support from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Government of India also organised the second Roundtable on Green Buildings on 20 November 2015, during the 13th edition of the Green Buildings Congress at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
