Given that the travel restrictions are still in place in most parts of the world, particularly in Europe and Asia, and the fact that 13th ASEM Summit (ASEM13) is getting closer, Cambodia hosted the first ASEM SOM virtually on 2-3 July 2020, in order to minimise all of the risks arising from the global COVID-19 pandemic and ensure full participation from all ASEM SOM leaders.
