The focus of this meeting can be divided into five major areas:
1. strengthening multilateralism: addressing security threats and challenges, as well as regional and international issues;
2. promoting partership for human-centred and sustainable development;
3. enhancing dialogue among cultures and civilisations;
4. the future of ASEM; and
5. endorsement of new ASEM initiatives.
As a follow-up of this meeting, the ministers welcome a proposal to hold a ministerial meeting on labour and employment issues.
