Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L.Purevsuren has received a European Union delegation led by Mr. Michael MATTHIESSEN who was on a working visit to Mongolia in conjunction with the 11th ASEM Summit (ASEM11) to be hosted by Mongolia in 2016.

Underlining the honour vested upon Mongolia to organize the ASEM Summit, Minister L.Purevsuren expressed his gratitude to EU and European nations for their commitment to and support for Mongolia in successfully hosting the event.

The Minister expressed his firm belief in EU for sharing its experiences and developing close cooperation with Mongolia in celebrating the 20th ASEM anniversary in Ulaanbaatar next year.

The mission of the EU delegation is to review ASEM Summit preparations underway in Mongolia, share expertise with Mongolian colleagues and will result in determining areas of joint efforts for and EU assistance to holding the Summit and its side events in 2016.

By expressing his appreciation for a warm welcome and a frank meeting accorded to the delegation by the Minister, Mr. Matthiessen revealed EU’s willingness to provide support, in all possible ways, for Mongolia to host the ASEM Summit.
