His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe'II, the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark on the occasion of the 67th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II today.

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe'II, the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark on the occasion of the 67th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II today.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the strong and friendly relations, as well as deep understanding between Brunei and Denmark.

His Majesty hoped that the warm relations would be further enhanced in the future, for the mutual benefit of the countries and its people. In addition, His Majesty hoped that Her Majesty would always remain in good health and happiness, and wished that the people of Denmark enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

In a similar congratulatory message to Denmark's Prime Minister, His Majesty extended his wishes that the warm and friendly relations of both countries would be maintained and strengthened in the future' and wished His Excellency continued good health and happiness and prosperity for the people of Denmark.

Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a separate message to his Denmark counterpart, Per Stig Moller.

"I am pleased to present my warmest regards to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and the Royal Family, together with my congratulations and best wishes to you and the government and people of Denmark on the birthday of Her Majesty," His Royal Highness stated.

His Royal Highness also looked forward to working together to develop the friendship between both countries at bilateral level and as partners in the Asia Europe' Meeting (Asem) and the Asean-EU dialogue.

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II ascended the throne in 1972 in the Danish monarchy that is considered as one of the oldest in the world.

Her Majesty's education backgrounds include studying archaeology at the University of Cambridge, and subsequently, political science at Aarhus University, and at the London School of Economics.

The monarch married His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark in 1967 and has two sons, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik and His Royal Highness Prince Joachim. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
