On 20 February 2019, the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, organized the “ASEM Day” activity at the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University. 67 students enthusiastically participated in a Model ASEM – a simulation exercise, where they had the opportunity to practice their speech writing and delivery skills, after they were briefed about the ASEM. This gave the students an in-depth exposure to the mechanisms of the ASEM framework.

This exercise was part of a series of events the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is hosting to raise public awareness about the celebration of “ASEM Day” (every 1 March) as well as to empower and engage our youth in the ASEM Process.

Thailand also organised the other two ASEM Day celebrations in conjunction with the Young Ambassadors of Virtues Foundation. To find out more about these 2 events, please visit:
