European and Asian representatives regularly meet to discuss ways of enhancing customs cooperation between the two regions.
The 9th Meeting of the ASEM Working Group on Customs Matters (AWC) was held from 18-19 June 2015 in Liège, Belgium. Some 70 participants from 41 ASEM members took part in the meeting.
Representatives from various customs agencies in ASEM members discussed the development of an ASEM Customs Action Plan, including cooperation on trade facilitation, border management, IPR enforcement, product safety, and trans-boundary waste shipment.
The 10th AWC Meeting was hosted by Brunei Darussalam in April 2016.
