As part of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Education Process, the Expert Group on Digitalisation will host an online seminar titled “Best Practices on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education,” jointly organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the ASEM Education Secretariat.
This seminar will bring together teachers and students to exchange practices and requirements for using AI in teaching and learning (T&L). It aims to create a cross-regional platform for discussing best practices and fostering mutual understanding, building on previous discussions from the EG’s first online seminar, “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Learning & Teaching in Higher Education,” held in November 2023.
Confirmed speakers include Prof. Dr. Abtar Darshan Singh from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and Prof. Dr. Carlos Delgado Kloos from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, representing the teacher perspective. Urszula Lis from the European Students’ Union and Manan Singh from the ASEAN Youth Organisation (AYO) will share insights from the European and Asian student perspectives, respectively. The seminar will be moderated by Ruben Janssens from Ghent University.
Target participants include university staff (teachers, administrators, managers) and students interested in discussing the practical use of AI in higher education. Other education stakeholders are also welcome, and participation is free.
The seminar will take place on 5 November 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 CET, conducted in English.
